I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “No other rapper had a bigger, more ambitious year than Kendrick Lamar did in 2015.” And 2016 has been just as special with the March release of untitled unmastered. It’s been over a year since To Pimp a Butterfly (an album that only gets better as time passes). The album earned the Good Kid a 2016 Grammy “Album of the Year” nomination and 4 Grammy wins including “Best Rap Album.” He also delivered a skin-tingling, audacious and powerful Grammy performance that sent chills down your spine watching it.
We’re halfway through the year, Kendrick is turning 29 and despite all the work that he’s given us, it still feels like he has so much more up his sleeve. So here’s to another year and many more. I’m anxious to see where his career goes from here.
Happy birthday King Kendrick. PIMP PIMP! HOORAY!
