No one puts their city on their back quite like the 6 God
Drake warned us that 2015 was his and he has not come short to claiming what he has rightful earned. With the drop of his surprise album, If Your Reading This It’s Too Late, rocking out this year’s OVO Fest in Toronto and not to mention the mega dub taken from the Meek Mills beef. Even with a list of accomplishment and success under his belt Drizzy hasn’t forgotten to give back to the talent that he believes in.
Among Drake’s Instagram, @champagnepapi , there is no shortage of him living the superstar lifestyle. On his IG you can find pictures of him rubbing elbows with other rap celebrities, feeding a real life tiger, and showing off is new hard body, I see you Papi. In between all of these photos you can find some real gems including photos of Drake performing in sold out arenas all over the world.
These relatively unknown talents have been put in the spotlight and could very well be the next to blow. A co-sign from Drake can go a long way. After all, this is the same man who turned the Weeknd into a phenomenon and Makonnen into a Grammy nominee. Could the next great photographer be hiding in Drake’s Instagram feed? I think so, join me as I highlight some of me favorite photographers from Champagnepapi’s IG.
God Bless who ever granted this man access to the photographers pit. The energy from his shots at the 6th Annual OVO Fest let you know just how live it was there. Drake features multiple photos from this photographer which show both up close and personal shots of the stars that were featured and shots of the crowd enjoying the show.
All the photos from this Toronto photographer play with the lighting used on stage. Shifting Drake directly into his 6 God persona. Having the Toronto love and multiple photos featured on Drake’s page I would say he is definitely an artist to watch out for.
Giving more Toronto love, Theo Skudra went on the Drake v.s Lil Wayne tour. Drake took a minute to share pictures the photos which include him and Wayne on stage as well as some behind the scenes photos.
The Hive has really opened me up to the many dynamics of art. I look forward to continuing to enjoy the work that these photographers capture and see their success grow. Make sure to follow the artist on IG and check what artists and places they are shooting.
