This weekend, Downtown Houston will experience a little Taste of New Orleans! Read a bit more on why you should check it out!

This Saturday, Houston will play host to the inaugural Taste of New Orleans presented by AmCap Mortgage Ltd. This event is a showcase of the Big Easy bringing the New Orleans culture to several cities in the United States. Whether it’s for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest or the classic French architecture, tourists from around the world flock to New Orleans continuously for the experience. Though the New Orleans experience cannot be matched, Meegz Media Group has created a sensuous experience that will leave a grand lasting impression. On Saturday, May 16th , music, food and art from the big easy will be present at Jones Plaza.

Musical acts include Dana Abbott, Flow Tribe, and Brass-A-Holics. Art from several New Orleans artists will be on display, so if you consider yourself one who appreciates art, you don’t want to miss some of the best our next-door neighbors have to offer! Red Bull has teamed up New Orleans native Lionel Milton to create various interactive canvases for customers. Mr. Milton has also designed the official festival poster you see up top as our feature image and he will be doing a signing on May 16th atPJ’s Coffee, a proud sponsor of the event!

Most importantly, a variety of restaurants will be serving New Orleans cuisine. The Cajun Stop, owned by, New Orleans native Lisa Carnley, will be serving traditional po’boys and other Louisiana favorites. Crawfish and Tex-Cajun will be available through a local franchise favorite: BB’s Café. Adult beverages will be available of course, because you can’t have a taste of New Orleans without getting a small taste of Bourbon St.! Beer from Abita will be on tap, as well as the traditional “hurricane”, made by Bayou Rum. Everything about the Big Easy will be available for attendees! Tickets can be purchased at HERE! Gates will open on May 16th at 2:00pm and the festival will end at 10:00pm.
